In fact, I’ll have a new comic up tomorrow. Finally. Sorry about the delay.
tomorrow evening I should have a new comic posted. In the mean time, I’ve been very busy (though I’m disappointed I’ve slightly overdone the cookies 😦 )
As you may have noticed, there’s no comic for today (and there’s a very strong possibility of there not being one tomorrow as well), this is due to me being very busy the last couple of days, more so since I got my “new” Tablet PC (it’s second hand) to replace my laptop (which has a bust screen).
Have found my comic sketches, yay! Unfortunately, super busy weekend, so nothing to post today. I should have something for tuesday, though.
I’m currently trying to find work in IT, doing desktop support and similar. It’s very frustrating, I don’t have much experience, and that which I do have is all from ad hoc support that I’ve provided to my colleagues in the labs (or my friends and family).
It seems that no employer wants to train someone up to fit the roles they have available to fill. This is kind of understandable, given the possibility of the trainee moving on as soon as training is complete rendering the whole escapade a rather costly waste. However, if this is legal (employment law is a little outside my area of expertise), setting out minimum terms of service in the employee’s contract would mitigate this somewhat – the employee would have to stay with the company for a fixed time, say 2 years (which I’ve seen with employees getting Degrees with day-release from the employer), and if they leave before that time, then the employee will be responsible for a pro-rata amount of the costs incurred in training them.
At the moment, job hunting feels like this:
Still trying to get my head around this site.
Also, I’m getting used to my Wacom Bamboo, oh how I wish I could afford an Intuos (well, I can sort of, though my drawing ability at the moment wouldn’t do it justice).
I’ll have a comic up later today for people’s amusement. I might also sit down and work on my drawing too. After I’ve put the vacuum back together.
Well, this is new for me. Random posts on whatever pops into my head, along with pictures, and more importantly (I feel); The Labratory webcomics – I’ve a load done, but I’ve got more to do.
I’ll be putting up the old comics (with some minor tweaks) over the next few weeks, and either re-doing those (I want to spend more time drawing), or creating new ones (many ideas still to work with).
At some point I’ll figure out just what the hell I’m going to do with the setup of this site.
